Good to Know:: This is an exceptionally rugged trail with lots of possibilities to trip or twist an ankle via curves and dips. It is not a direct route between the two lots. Beautiful terrain, but leave lots of time for this trail.
Why:: Among the lesser traveled ones in the park and one in which runs along the foothills.
Wildlife Probability:: Potentially. I've seen deer nearing or exceeding 300 lbs in the denser vegetation areas. I've also seen burros at dusk and after dark.

The antithesis of the stereotypical Mojave, and the open terrain provides plenty of views across the basin, reinforcing the calm, unhurried nature of the hike.
