For someone whose never heard this term before, it's quite bizarre. Kibbles-n-Bits Cat in the Hat Bunny loop refers to three different connector trails combined to form one unique loop. All of which are in Red Rock Canyon Las Vegas. Kibbles-n-Bits is a very curvy, unpredictable trail that can be hiked or biked from the base of Blue Diamond mountain to a significant elevation. All the while providing spacious views of the Spring Mountains. Alternatively, it can be taken from top to bottom. This segment can indeed be tackled as a standalone unit.
Cat in the Hat connects with Kibbles-n-Bits which is a brief semi straight segment taking us half way down the mountain. Bunny picks up and returns us to ground level. This adventurous mountain biking trail or hiking trail can be taken clockwise or counter clockwise. The trail intelligence depicts a counter clockwise route.
Geologically, this area highlights the dramatic contrast between the towering Wilson Cliffs—made of Jurassic-era Aztec Sandstone, once massive Sahara-like dunes—and the darker limestone peaks of the Spring Mountains behind them. Seasonal snow is sporadic in this region and undoubtedly adds a tremenous amount to the scenery and overall experience. Otherwise, this entire area is fully exposed.
You will not find trail markers and some maps are even vague/ difficult to follow. Carry a reliable offline maps resource. However you decide to trek this series of trails, this unique hiking or mountain biking trail is challenging, scenic, and will keep you guessing which way you're headed, most of the way.
