Kibbles n Bits Trail is a primitive connector route in southern Red Rock Canyon Las Vegas. It moves through open desert terrain and is most useful as part of a longer custom outing rather than as a singular destination trail. Regardless, this curvy trail is ideal for mountain biking or as an exhilerating hiking trail on Blue Diamond Hill. This region is entirely different from conventional Red Rock Canyon hiking trails adjacent to the Scenic Loop. Views are unique, there are zero trail markers, and it feels far more rural and thus has nowhere near the amount of visitors.
Make no mistake. This could most definitely be taken as a single unit, but the full loop is so much more adventurous. A short distance from the trailhead/ ground level, sections of trail become nebulous. If you consider turning back—don't. This highly curvy trail has some absolutely extraordinary vantage points of the Spring Mountains and the greater Red Rock Canyon far below. A Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area boundary sign sits three quarters of the way up, so technically....this trail takes us both inside and outside of the actual park.
How can the Kibbles-n-Bits trail weave in and out of the park? It's primitive. Meaning, this may've been carved by mountain bikers, repeat hikers, or perhaps it was even used many, many years ago. Regardless, there are no trail markers, so expect self reliance.
As an adventurous, curvy, and unpredictable route with sensational views, it does an excellent job in many areas of providing a clear path for hikers and mountain bikers alike.
