Pine Creek in Red Rock Canyon Las Vegas is an unassuming trail that gets progressively more beautiful. Residing in the last quarter of the Scenic Loop, hikers journey from a parking lot, down the side of the mountain, and into a region offering seasonal, lush streams, dense vegetation, and magnificent, natural beauty. This trail is an ideal, family friendly hike with two options—out and back or an extended loop.
The name Pine Creek is undoubtedly derived from the more than seasonal creek and underground shale, providing the area with an unforeseen amount of water. It's among the greenest areas in the park, offers sporadic sections of shade, gorgeous views of the mountains, and several opportunities to take far longer, much more adventurous trails deep into the Spring Mountains.
The backside of the Pine Creek loop has a series of extraneous ledges overlooking the entire area. Of which are wonderful spots for continued adventure, uncommon vantage points, or simply—lovely places for introspection, lunch, etc. This region is a truely beautiful treasure within Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
Temperatures in this region are usually much cooler than in other areas due to the array of mountain provided shade. Mountain climbers frequent this area so you'll have chance encounter sightings with people scaling mountain sides from hundreds to perhaps over a thousand feet up. For the anomalous hikers, Pine Creek Canyon is the gateway to unique hiking in Las Vegas. Areas ranging from Bridge Mountain to Fern and Juniper Canyon.
